Copyright has always been a huge issue. It didn’t seem to be much of a problem in primary school. But high school took it seriously and University took it too the next level, “You will die if you plagerise!”
It’s all a power game. They have this idea that knowledge is power and that sharing information makes you weaker. The scarcer the knowledge is the more value it holds, right?
Wrong. It is impossible to move forward if we keep putting up boundaries between people. An example of this is Apple music vs Spotify. Spotify is free and easily accessible by internet, whereas Apple music is very expensive and is exclusive to those who can pay for it. This creates an immediate divide between the classes.
The Apple music vs Spotify example is an analogy for Copyright vs Creative Commons. Information helps us all advance, why should we shield our society from advancing by selfishly withholding content from other people?
